Austin, TX (January 7, 2014) – Today, Austin-based food and beverage management company Greenman announced the debut of the first fundraising portal based on perks dedicated exclusively to start-ups in the food and beverage industry. The “perks portal” launched with Austin-based Yard Bar as the first culinary concept to fundraise through the platform.
Greenman has developed this portal with a specific focus on the food and beverage industry allowing restaurants, bars and consumer-packaged goods the ability to offer exciting and valuable perks and rewards in exchange for a show of support. Processing fees for candidates are significantly lower than those of other fundraising platforms, providing a larger contribution to the businesses that really need it.
“As the founder of Yard Bar, I was seeking a unique way to raise money for my business,” says Yard Bar owner, Kristen Heaney. “The Greenman Perks Portal is an ideal platform for raising the funds needed to make my dreams of opening a better dog park for Austin – one that provides great food and drinks – come true. Additionally, the support provided by Greenman and their numerous resources has really helped define the Yard Bar concept. I'm delighted to see our fan base grow as word about Yard Bar spreads through Austin and surrounding communities.”
Greenman provides investment strategies and essential support services to new and existing food and beverage brands by utilizing a team of complimentary resourceprofessionals, thus providing candidates with exceptional management in all aspects of their business, driving growth and profitability while mitigating risk for their investors. The Greenman Perks Portal was created to help these brands raise the money needed to get started.
Greenman was created by Michael Shefman, Brian Stubbs and Shane Boasberg. Shefman dreamed of creating a firm that would bring management and creative support as well as equity funding to aspiring culinary stars. Boasberg is an attorney and brings to Greenman an incisive knowledge of the legalities involved in opening a new business in the State of Texas, an understanding of investment and crowd-funding regulations, and a passion to help establish new restaurant concepts in Austin. Stubbs has an extensive background in the hospitality industry and is the founder of Genuine Article, a hospitality-focused bookkeeping and consulting company.
“We've built a model that supports our unique, Austin culinary community at any stage,” says co-founder, Michael Shefman, “And we believe in the growth, innovation and potential profitability of Austin’s rising culinary stars.”
Greenman was founded in January 2013 assisting its first client, Noble Sandwich Co. to open its second location in the spring of 2014. Greenman has also provided services forAqua Crisps, Mrs. P’s Electric Cock, Small Victory, and A-OK Chinese.
