Josh Loving - Spirits & Wine Program Development
Mr. Loving has spent the last nine years working in the hospitality industry in Austin. In 2005, he accepted the position of wine director at FINO Restaurant Patio and Bar and by 2008, was simultaneously curating the wine programs of FINO, ASTI Trattoria, and Vino Vino. In 2009, he took a second job as a bartender at the East Side Showroom but left in 2010 to accept the position of bar manager at FINO. Under his management, FINO was recognized by local, state, and national media for its beverage program, including GQ Magazine’s October 2010 feature “The 25 Best Cocktail Bars in America.” Since leaving FINO in 2012, Mr. Loving has been the bar manager at Weather Up Austin, where there is an emphasis on classic cocktails prepared with house-cut ice.
In 2011, one of Mr. Loving's bitters recipes was chosen to be nationally distributed by the GreenBar Collective. Also in 2011, his “Brotherly Love” cocktail was printed in All the Gin Joints, by Michael Turback. In 2012, he was nominated for a Tastemaker award by Culture Map Austin for Wine & Beverage Program and in the May 4, 2012 Wall Street Journal one of his recipes was used in the feature, “Mastering the Margarita.”
Mr. Loving brings to Greenman a thorough knowledge of the restaurant beverage world and a keen sense of what works in developing beverage programs for new concepts.
